Patrick Bufalieri

Veterinarian

Dr. Patrick J. Bufalieri, a native New Yorker with a heart as big as Manhattan, embarked on a fascinating journey that led him from the bustling streets of the city to the historic halls of the University of Bologna in Italy—the oldest university in the western world.

Armed with a biology degree from Marist Brothers College and a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the prestigious University of Bologna, Dr. Bufalieri co-founded Wag’n Tails Animal Hospital in Davie in 1988. For 34 years, he dedicated himself to the well-being of countless furry companions, building a legacy in the world of small animal practice.

Upon retiring from full-time practice, Dr. Bufalieri refused to let go of his passion for animals. He  is now wearing his white coat part-time as an associate veterinarian at Southport Animal Hospital, where his expertise continues to shine.

A proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Florida Veterinary Association, and the Broward County Veterinary Association, Dr. Bufalieri is not just a practitioner but a respected figure in the veterinary community.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Bufalieri shares his home with his beloved wife, Mara, and their daughter, Victoria. The household is enriched by the presence of three feline friends—Dante, Beatrice, and Olivia—each a tale of rescue and compassion.

As the curtains of his professional life draw back, Dr. Bufalieri takes center stage in the captivating world of photography during his free time, capturing moments that mirror the beauty and diversity of the creatures he has dedicated his life to caring for.
