Patrick Bufalieri

Veterinarian

Dr. Patrick J. Bufalieri is a dedicated veterinarian with over three decades of experience in small animal medicine. Originally from New York, he earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Marist College before obtaining his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Bologna in Italy, the oldest university in the Western world.

In 1988, Dr. Bufalieri co-founded Wag’n Tails Animal Hospital in Davie, Florida, where he served the community with distinction for 34 years. His commitment to high-quality veterinary care and client education earned him the trust of generations of pet owners.

Dr. Bufalieri continues to contribute to the profession as a full-time associate veterinarian at Southport Animal Hospital with 41 years of experience. He also maintains high standards as our head surgeon. His clinical expertise and compassionate approach remain highly valued by both clients and colleagues.

He is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, and the Broward County Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Bufalieri also holds his pilot's license just like Dr. Marlar and our hospital manager Erick.

Dr. Bufalieri resides with his wife, Mara, and their daughter, Victoria. Their home is shared with three rescue cats—Blondi, Beatrice, and Olivia—reflecting his lifelong commitment to animal welfare.
